While in Los Angeles last month, I visited a few fun shops and showrooms that I know you’ll all love and appreciate. One that really stood out was M.Dot Design, near one of my favorite neighborhoods, Hancock Park.
Michelle Aquino not only knows how to make beautiful clothes, she is also a pro at bringing brands together and creating a buzz for the line. She has a partnership with several hotels nationwide and has been featured in a variety of publications such as Teen Vogue, Glamour and Fashionista.com.
Her beautiful dresses, tops and shorts are sophisticated and classic, with a bit of playfulness and femininity. It’s all made in her studio and consists of gorgeous fabrics and color combinations. M Dot also features an array of locally made Jewelry brands, accessories and handbags, so you can pretty much leave with a new look for the night. Their stuff is very well-crafted and they are incredible one-of-a-kind pieces.
My favorite part of this showroom is its cozy feel, which is a mix of curated items and vintage finds. Also, it’s filled with incredible natural light and bright windows. I mean, I wouldn’t mind coming to work here everyday, though the distractions may be a problem.
